Man shot in jaws of croc
A man is in hospital after he was accidentally shot by a rescuer who was trying to free him from the jaws of a crocodile. The victim was attacked near a popular tourist spot near Darwin in Northern Australia.
Crocodile attacks and shootings are rare in Australia. To suffer both at once is to say the least unfortunate.
Jason Grant was flown by helicopter to hospital for emergency surgery for bite and bullet wounds. He was collecting crocodile eggs at a remote reptile farm when he found himself locked inside a giant set of jaws. For a few terrifying moments the animal wildly shook its victim before the intervention of a fellow worker. He fired two shots at the crocodile. One hit the target, while the other struck the arm of his stricken colleague.

Theft-proof Police car stolen
A high tech, theft-proof £75,000 police car was stolen in Berlin after officers left it unlocked with the key in the ignition.
The special BMW, which features high-tech surveillance equipment and sophisticated electronic locks and immobilisers to make it theft proof, was the pride of the Berlin police force.
But it was stolen when two officers jumped out to chase a joy-rider on foot after he had abandoned a stolen car. The criminal got away and when the officers returned they found the BMW gone. The pair are facing disciplinary action. Police chiefs say they have no leads on who may have stolen the car and are still looking for it.

Super DuckSuper Duck draws the crowds
A duck in China has become a celebrity for its singing, dancing and counting abilities.
Bengbeng is said to follow its owner, Du Xinai to the local market to buy vegetables every day, wearing a small red scarf and a pair of tiny shoes.
"Each day someone asks him to dance or sing or count", says Du. "If you ask him to sing, he quacks rhythmically while shaking his head and body. He quite enjoys it." "If you put up one finger, he quacks once, then twice with two fingers, and so on."
Du says Bengbeng is also a good citizen, and always waits for the traffic lights. "If he sees me waiting for a green light, he stops also, and waits quietly for the colour to change."
Du says Bengbeng has become quite a star.
